Ditch the boring “Ko wai au?” unit and invite ākonga to explore identity through the exciting world of superheroes. Students learn to describe appearance, personality, feelings, and interests while practising how to introduce themselves and others in te reo Māori. 

Through creative activities, learners design and present their own Māori-inspired superhero, using descriptive reo Māori to bring their character to life. This imaginative unit blends storytelling, creativity, and language learning while encouraging students to celebrate the unique strengths and qualities of others.
