Te Pae Tawhiti – Look to the Future empowers ākonga to explore aspirations, pathways, and purposeful futures through the lens of te reo Māori. Designed for senior learners ready to deepen both fluency and reflection, this unit strengthens the ability to communicate about goals, challenges, solutions, and personal direction in both familiar and more formal contexts.
Ākonga use te reo Māori to discuss career ideas, wellbeing, identity, and what success means across different cultural perspectives. They learn to offer advice, respond to suggestions, explain reasoning, and communicate about future plans with increasing flexibility and independence.
This unit positions te reo Māori as a language of direction, leadership, and collective responsibility — strengthening maturity, cultural integrity, and readiness for senior-level study.
