OUR SERVICES

Our services are designed to strengthen cultural understanding, build confidence in te reo Māori, and create lasting change across workplaces, schools, and communities.

"Kei hea taku manapou, taku manatawa?"

"Where are the seeds of my language?"

The name Poutawa is drawn from this whakataukī, which speaks to the origins and future of te reo Māori. Just as the kākā once carried seeds across Aotearoa to take root and flourish, so too must the seeds of our language be sown, nurtured, and protected. At the heart of this kōrero are two seeds:

Te Manapou

The Seed of Lifeforce

Te Manapou represents the essence and vitality of te reo Māori—the beating heart of our language. It is the connection to whakapapa, to identity, and to the spiritual and cultural foundations that give te reo its mana and mauri. This seed is the life force that sustains and energises all who engage with the language.

Te Manatawa

The Seed of Growth

Te Manatawa embodies the evolution and expansion of te reo Māori—its ability to adapt, grow, and thrive in contemporary contexts while remaining rooted in tradition. This seed represents innovation, learning, and the continuous journey of language development that honors the past while embracing the future.
