Tū Māia
Building Cultural Capabilities
A Level 5 cultural capability programme supporting learners to understand Te Ao Māori, reflect on systemic inequities, and apply culturally responsive practice within their organisation.
Tū Māia is a Level 5 micro-credential programme designed to build Māori cultural capability within organisations. Grounded in mātauranga Māori and informed by the vision of Tā Wira Gardiner, the programme supports learners to stand with confidence in their understanding and application of Te Ao Māori.
Through a structured and immersive learning journey, participants explore Māori worldviews, tikanga, and the impacts of colonisation on Aotearoa.
The programme integrates noho wānanga, online learning, and reflective practice to deepen cultural awareness, challenge assumptions, and strengthen culturally responsive practice.
